PHOTOVERSE is honored to present Saudi Arabian female photographer Tasneem Alsultan as she shares work documenting recent pivotal events in Saudi Arabia’s history, and provides her unique perspective on its many cultural, social, and political changes.
In this presentation, Tasneem covers the various aspects of her photographic career, detailing her background, challenges she faced, and her achievements in the photographic field. Tasneem shares with the audience a showcase of her documented milestones, including the lifted ban on women driving, cultural festivals, and other public events, as well as insight into her creative process — demonstrating how she uses photography to craft compelling visual stories. This session also delves into the cultural impact and global relevance of Tasneem’s work with an emphasis on its significance within Saudi Arabia’s evolving identity and its influence on global perceptions. Through captivating visuals and personal anecdotes, Tasneem offers an enlightening and thought-provoking exploration of Saudi Arabia’s history transformation through the eyes and photography of a woman challenging traditional gender roles in a male-dominated field.
